Can Photo Renaissance AI restore, colorize and animate old photos?
Yes. Restore repairs fading, scratches and tears; Colorize turns a black-and-white or sepia photo into natural colour; Animate turns a portrait into a short four-second video. Restored and colorized images are AI reconstructions of what the photo may have looked like, not exact records. Animation uses more credits than a still image, and each device can create up to five animations a day.
Is Photo Renaissance AI free? How do credits and membership work?
The app is free to download, and new users receive a few credits to try it. Every transformation uses credits. A weekly, monthly or yearly membership adds a credit allowance at the start of each period; unused membership credits do not carry over to the next period. One-time credit packs never expire, and members receive bonus credits on every pack. Current prices are shown in your local currency on the purchase screen before you buy.
How do I cancel my Photo Renaissance AI membership?
Memberships are billed through your Apple ID. Open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Photo Renaissance and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid the next charge; you keep your membership and its credits until the period ends. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
What happens to my photos?
When you start a transformation, the photo file you chose is sent over HTTPS through a FAEM SOFTWARE server function for processing, and the result is returned to your iPhone. Your photos are sent to Google's Gemini API for processing; under the API terms, Google may retain them for a limited period for abuse monitoring. Google does not use these photos to train AI models. We do not store your photos on our servers. Results, your collection and your credit balance are stored on your device. Usage statistics and crash reports from Firebase never include your photos or anything derived from them.
