Privacy Policy

Introduction

Welcome to Photo Renaissance AI. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide or That Is Collected

  • Photos you choose to transform — the photo file you choose is sent over HTTPS through a FAEM SOFTWARE server function (hosted on Supabase) for processing, only to create the result you asked for. Your photos are sent to Google's Gemini API for processing; under the API terms, Google may retain them for a limited period for abuse monitoring. Google does not use these photos to train AI models. We do not store your photos on our servers.
  • Camera — used only while you take a photo to transform
  • Photo library — used to let you pick a photo, to save results when you choose to, and to suggest photos with faces from your most recent pictures; faces are detected on your device with Apple's Vision framework and the detected face positions are cached on the device only
  • Results, My Creations and a local result cache — stored in the app's storage on your device; written to your photo library or shared only when you choose to
  • Credit balance and app preferences (language, reminder setting, onboarding progress) — stored on your device; a subscription renewal marker is kept in the device Keychain
  • Usage statistics via Google Firebase Analytics — screens and modes opened, generation started, succeeded or failed (with an error code and duration), result feedback (thumbs up or down), credit spending, paywall views and purchase steps, notification permission, plus your membership status, plan, coarse credit and usage ranges and app language. Firebase also records a pseudonymous app instance ID, the iOS identifier for vendor (IDFV), device model, OS version, app version and approximate country
  • Crash and error reports via Google Firebase Crashlytics — stack trace, error type and message, device model, OS version and app version
  • Purchase and subscription status — processed by the Apple App Store and RevenueCat under an anonymous RevenueCat ID

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • No account and no registration — no name, email address or phone number is asked for
  • No photos are kept on our servers; the server function only passes them to Google and returns the result
  • Photos, file names and anything derived from photo content (age, gender, facial features) are never added to usage statistics
  • No face recognition or biometric templates — on-device face detection only finds where faces are in a picture
  • No location permission, no contacts, and no advertising or advertising identifier (IDFA); no cross-app tracking
  • We do not sell your data
  • No access to your payment details — payments are handled entirely by Apple

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide and maintain the app's core functionality
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve user experience
  • Fix bugs and improve app performance
  • Send notifications and reminders (if enabled by you)
  • Manage your subscription and process payments through Apple App Store

Data Storage

Local Storage: Your results, your collection, your credit balance and your settings are stored on your device. The only content of yours that leaves the device is the photo file you choose to transform, which is sent over HTTPS through our server function to Google's Gemini API for processing. We do not store your photos on our servers. Reminders are local notifications scheduled by iOS on your device — there is no push server.

Cloud Services We Use:

  • Google Gemini API — AI image and video generation for the photos you choose to transform; how Google handles these photos is described under Information We Collect
  • Supabase — hosts the FAEM SOFTWARE server function that passes your selected photo to Google and returns the result; it does not store your photo
  • Google Firebase Analytics — usage statistics
  • Google Firebase Crashlytics — crash and error reports
  • RevenueCat — subscription and purchase validation
  • Apple — App Store payments and subscription management

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. Anonymized, aggregated data may be shared with analytics providers to improve our services.

Your Rights

  • Access: View all data stored in the app at any time
  • Delete: Remove all your data by uninstalling the app or clearing app data in device settings
  • Opt-out: Usage statistics cannot be switched off inside the app; deleting the app stops all collection. Reminders can be turned off at any time in the app's Settings.

Children's Privacy

Photo Renaissance AI is rated 4+. Users below the age of digital consent in their country should use it with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, and a child's photo may only be transformed by that child's parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children: the app has no account or profile, and photos are used only to create the result requested. Purchases are made through the Apple ID signed in on the device, so a parent's Ask to Buy and Screen Time settings apply as usual.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures including local device storage, HTTPS encryption for any network communications, and restricted transmission of sensitive data to external servers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
